D47 Yet Another Change...

So yesterday I talked about Piloxing and how it was going to be my new Sunday morning class...but...

I decided that on payday I really love the extra that working Sunday's gives me and I can't do both so I decided to sacrifice Piloxing for now and work Sunday's for a little bit longer.

Fortunately my job needs me as much as I need them and my boss was thrilled that I asked to pick them up. We'll both benefit from this and I need the extra cash right now because not only are the holiday's coming (AH!) but I also really need a car. Right now my wife and I share her car but it's getting really difficult and really stressful! So hopefully within the next couple of months I'll have my own. *fingers crossed*

I actually REALLY love Sunday's at my job too so that works out well. It's a great group of girls that work and I love that it's 9-5 and busy!! And like I said I love the extra in my check on payday. So all around it's a win. Yes I'll be sacrificing Piloxing but when I was at the gym this morning I discovered there is a spin class on Monday morning at 9:30!! So I'll replace Piloxing on Sunday with spin on Monday which will be great for triathlon training as well. Piloxing was great but it's not a tri event ;-)

And, since I'll be saving all my Sunday money for a car I won't have the extra to put aside for a road bike right now. The tri isn't until September so it's OK. I'll do lap swimming and spin classes at my gym which are included in my membership and after I've saved for and purchased a car I'll start saving for a bike and sign up for Master Swim. At first I got a little stressed...ok, a LOT stressed...about the car situation and finances and then I took a breath, stepped back and reevaluated. Now I feel much better about everything and realize that it's a win win. I love Sunday's, they need me on Sunday's and I need the extra cash. It's all gravy, baby :)

My new proposed gym schedule is going to be
:
Monday-Spin and pull/abs
Tuesday-Spin and push/legs
Wednesday-Run
Thursday-Run or elliptical or w/e kind of cardio I so choose and pull/abs
Friday-Zumba and push/legs

Saturday/Sunday-I work 9-5 and the gym is open 7-5 so gym won't work. Maybe a walk or some yoga at home, maybe I'll rest on the weekends.

This new schedule doesn't reflect any swimming, I realize that but that's because I don't know the pool schedule at the moment. I'm off of work on Tuesday and Wednesday so I can swim and do other cardio and I can possibly swim on Thursday instead of cardio. Right now I don't have a suit or goggles but I do have Amazon gift cards I'm going to purchase those with...it'll be a couple weeks before I start swimming but like I said, I have until September so it's not high on my priority list right now.

I feel good about my gym schedule and I like having it in writing. I'm definitely someone who is more likely to succeed if I have a plan in place. Being spontaneous is a lot more fun but it doesn't really work for me. I'm not type A, not in the least bit!! So it's been a bit of a challenge for me to really focus like this but it's also been really helpful. It doesn't take me long at all to come up with a meal plan and gym schedule and I feel a lot less stressed when I take the time to lay it all out. It helps me think less in the moment LOL. I like that I have a map to follow! Yes, I have to take the time to draw out the map but it's worth it for me and it's actually become part of my "me time". Really and truly I actually enjoy it...

It's surprising how something that feels so tedious and difficult in the beginning becomes something you can't live without down the road. Tracking my food, packing my food, planning my day, planning my week, planning my gym schedule, packing my gym bag...all of that felt so overwhelming and exhausting at first and now I feel panicked when I DON'T do all that!!

Speaking of planning, tracking and packing...I'm all set for tomorrow so I should probably go get some sleep <3 Goodnight!

I Fell In Love Today

I fell in love today. It was the craziest feeling and one of the most amazing moments in my 29 years of life. I will never forget the day I stood in the Target dressing room looking at her. Admiring her. Seeing her strength and beauty despite her flaws...maybe even because of them. She was stunning. Absolutely radiant and proud. She was beautiful outside but not because she had a toned stomach, tanned flawless skin and a thigh gap; she was a different kind of beautiful. She was genuinely beautiful. I stood there staring at her and admiring her and I felt myself smiling; caught off guard by how I was feeling! Almost a little ashamed that she caught my admiring eye. But she didn't reject my admiration; instead she smiled back at me and before I knew it I was crying.

Time was suspended as I stood there weeping softly, hot tears rolling down my cheeks but I didn't feel embarrassed in her presence. I was overcome with emotion but shame was not one. With her standing there I I felt s…

Falling In Love Again

At Weight Watchers this week we were talking about being kind to yourself. I was asked when it was I decided to stop beating beating myself up and I started to cry the moment I said “it all started with a bikini”.
You can read that story here if you want to be caught up.
I instantly felt my face flush as I realized I wasn’t going to be able to keep talking without tears rolling down my cheeks and I paused for a moment to look around the room. Was what I was about to do career suicide? What would my boss think if she walked into the meeting room and witnessed the leader having an emotional breakdown?
My job as a leader is to facilitate a conversation among members, to create an environment where each and every person who walks through the door feels safe and supported and to ensure that each week members leave feeling like they got a figurative hug with a side of science.
It’s great to be warm and fuzzy and I love that Weight Watchers has moved past the days of a leader lecturing for 45 …

D10 5 Ways to Make Running Suck Less & How You Can Apply These Tips To Your WLJ Even If You Don't Run!

I was scrolling through Facebook yesterday and this article popped up on my news feed. I've been running for a while now and I figured it would probably have information I already knew because I know it all...obviously! But I clicked on it anyways, why not!?

And I'm so happy I did! I actually found it funny and I appreciated the reminders because even though I knew things before I read it I wasn't applying them to my runs...but as I read I realized how much this article was a metaphor for other aspects of my weight loss journey! I can apply these tips to more than running, and heres how:

1. Get your chin down! Keep your jaw relaxed. Being aware of tension in my body is super important for me and it's especially important I'm aware of tension in my jaw. I get stressed, I clench my teeth and what happens next? I'm STARVING. Why? Because I'm tense and anxious, I'm not actually in need of food! If I can catch the clench and get to the bottom of what's cau…
